It's Thanksgiving morning and you've traveled all night to celebrate with family and friends. You've unpacked your favorite cooking tools and will work for hours to prepare the best feast ever.
As you juggle with the roasting pan and prepare stuffing, you visualize your guests giving you a standing ovation and offering to do the dishes. Afterwards, you will get comfy on the sofa and watch a Thanksgiving movie.
Here are a few of my favorites. If you have a favorite movie, please share with us and post in the "comments section."
Miracle on 34th Street
One of the main scenes in the movie is Macy's Thanksgiving day parade and the Christmas theme will surely help to get you in the spirit. This classic movie stars Natalie Wood, Maureen O’Hara, and Edmund Gwenn. Miracle on 34th Street is a story about a little girl who has lost the spirit of Christmas but has it rekindled by a department store Santa who claims to be the real Santa.
Hannah and Her Sisters
Between two Thanksgivings, Hannah's husband falls in love with her sister Lee, while her hypochondriac ex-husband rekindles his relationship with her sister Holly.
This one of my top Thanksgiving movies to watch. Written and directed by Woody Allen, this classic film stars Woody Allen, Mia Farrow and Michael Caine.
Home for the Holidays
A funny film based on challenges and crazy family antics at a family Thanksgiving dinner. Directed by Jodie Foster and this film features a great collection of actors and actresses including Holly Hunter, Robert Downy Jr., Anne Bancroft, Charles Durning and Dylan McDermott.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Peppermint Patty invites herself and her friends over to Charlie Brown's for Thanksgiving, and with Linus, Snoopy, and Woodstock, he attempts to throw together a Thanksgiving dinner. This movie is full of humor and sincerity.
Plymouth Adventure
A classic Thanksgiving movie about the "Mayflower's" historic voyage across the Atlantic.
Dutch
Dutch (Ed O'Neil) sets out to get to know his girlfriend's son and volunteers to pick him up from a prep school and quickly learns he's not the nicest kid to deal with.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
